One With Christ Ministries Newsletter

 Volume 3    Issue 3     March 2003

Dear Family and Friends,

Psalm 92:1,2  1 It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: 2To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night.

Hello to all and we greet and love you in the Lord Jesus.  As reported in February’s newsletter, Susan and I made a trip to Kentucky and Wisconsin in March.   We are pleased to announce that Susan and I are grandparents again.  Lilian Abigail was born March 7, 2003 at 3:19 P.M.  She weighed 7lbs, 3oz. and measured 20 inches long.  She is a beautiful baby and a special gift from God.  Her brother Peter, mommy and daddy are doing well. Our son and daughter-in-law are proud parents of two beautiful children.  Thank you God.

We enjoyed our time with our son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. We also had a great time in visiting with our daughter in Kentucky.   God blessed us with a safe trip and time with our family; we give all the Glory to God.

March brought Susan and I a time of traveling and ministering to people, as God continues to open divine appointments for the ministry and us.  It is such a privilege to be servants of the Lord and to give help to people that are in need of hope and love with the very Word of God and prayer.  1 Peter 3:15 says, “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:”  This is a time for all believers to give hope to people that need to hear the promises of God’s Word.  We must be that hope and a light in the darkness of this world.

With spring in the air and the beauty of the green grass, and trees and flowers in bloom, it is a reminder to us all that God made spring a special time for the beautiful things that He created.  It is also a time for us to put the winter season behind us and be in a new season with the Lord our God.   With all that is going on in the world that we live in, this is a season of giving help and hope to the world, proclaiming that Jesus is alive and sharing His love to all whom we meet and those that will hear the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Amen, Amen and Amen!

The Message This Month Is Entitled “THE LIGHT”

We as Christians and believers need to be the light of this world and reach out to the lost, hurting and dying world with the love of Jesus Christ. We need be the light and hope during these dark days in which we all live in.  If change is to come in this country and around the world, then this is the question each one of us should ask ourselves, Are we the light and hope that Jesus says we are to be?

We pray the following excerpts from Nelson’s New Illustrated Bible Dictionary about the light of the world that God’s Word speaks about will be of help.

“LIGHT — illumination; the opposite of darkness. The Bible also speaks of light as the symbol of God’s presence and righteous activity. Light has been associated with the presence, truth, and redemptive activity of God since creation. Before human beings were created, light was brought into being by the Creator God’s Word says in Genesis 1:3–4 1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.  Throughout the Bible, light represents truth, goodness, and God’s redemptive work. Darkness, on the other hand, symbolizes error, evil, and the works of Satan.

God’s Word, the Bible, are frequently represented as lights or lamps to enlighten and guide the believer 1 John 1:5 5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Psalm 119:105 105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 27:1 1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid.

Light is also used as a symbol of holiness and purity. Paul counseled the Christians at Rome to “put on the armor of light” Romans 13:12 12The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

The New Testament presents Jesus as the personification of light or divine illumination: “I am the light of the world” John 8:12 12Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Jesus plainly stated that those who rejected this divine light would bring judgment upon themselves John 3:19–21 19And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.   21But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Jesus and the New Testament writers extended the figure of light to include faithful Christian witnesses, who were called “children of light” Ephesians 5:8 8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

John 12:46 46I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.

Matthew 5:14 16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

CLAIM HIS PROMISES   I am certain today that nothing will profit you but what you take by faith.  As you “draw near to God … He will draw near to you.” (James 4:8) Believe and claim the promises, for they are “Yes” and “Amen” to all who believe (2 Cor. 1:20). Let us thank God for this full Gospel, which is not hidden under a bushel today (Matt. 5:15).  Let us thank Him that He is bringing out the Gospel as “in the days of His flesh (Heb. 5:7).  All the time, God is working right in the middle of us,but I want to know, what are you going to do with the Gospel today?  There is a greater blessing for you than you have ever received in your life. Do you believe? Will you receive it?  (The above was quoted from Smith Wigglesworth: On Spirit-Filled Living). Read God’s Word, and by His Holy Spirit, He will reveal His promises to you. IN HIS LOVE!  SUE

From Bill’s Studies

Each month I will share with you one of the 12 names of God that I have read or studied in the Bible.  The name of   God will be listed along with its meaning and a scripture from the Bible. Month of March Jehovah-Sabaoth (the Lord of hosts) Philippians 2:10  (KJV) That at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow, of the things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Our Hearts Desire Of One With Christ Ministries Newsletter

It is our hearts desire that One With Christ Ministries Newsletters will be a blessing to you and full of encouragement and hope so that you will have a deeper walk with God, come to know Him as He knows you, and to love God as He loves you. God wants His people to love Him and have a personal relationship with Him and to walk in a deeper walk with Him the Lord your God. We are finding out for ourselves that the more we draw nigh to God the more He draws nigh to us. God wants us to fellowship with Him, to be in His likeness and image, to do all things with Him, to hear His voice, to see what He sees, to say what he says, to walk where He walks and to do His will as His Son Jesus Christ did to reveal His Father. We are called to do His will, to reveal God to everyone that we meet, to have a compassionate heart and show the love of Jesus just as He did while on this earth.   May we go forth and give the love of Jesus to all that we meet each day.  Let us not miss an opportunity to be a witness for God to tell the lost, hurting, and wounded people of this world that Jesus loves them and has forgiven them of their sins.  May God fill your hearts with an overflowing of His peace and love. We thank you for your continual prayers and support for the ministry that God has entrusted us with.  We love you in the Lord Jesus. God Bless You.  Your gifts to the ministry are appreciated and tax-deductible.

In Our Heavenly Father’s Love,

Reverends Bill & Sue
